June 15th was Military Appreciation night at Anderson Speedway. While not a points race, the CER team wanted to hit the 1/4 mile of Anderson at least one more time before the crown jewel race in July.
Practice
These days, we consider Anderson Speedway one of our home tracks, so we generally are pretty fast right off of the trailer. This day was no different. In final practice, we found ourself at the top of the board with pace that we would be happy with for qualifying.
Qualifying
Our qualifying effort solidified that our new setup was working as we went straight to the top of the board with a 12.635!
Race
The race started great as Cassten was able to settle in to second place and log some laps. On lap 56 of 75, debris punctured Cassten’s LR tire and spun him around in turn 4. The crew was able to quickly replace the LR tire and get Cassten back on to the track. With only 19 laps remaining, Cassten would have to battle back through the field. Cassten was able to do so fairly successfully and found himself on the podium at the end of the day in 2nd place.
